7. Serve your meals restaurant-style. Instead of family-style (food served in bowls and big platters in the middle of the table) put the food on plates to keep from going back for second helpings. When your plate is empty, you are finished.


8. Take walks before your meals. Walking will decrease your appetite and will help burn more calories along the way.

9. Eat nuts instead of a sugary snack. There are plenty of studies and evidence that even though nuts are high in calories, they can help lose weight. They’re also very filling and provide that feeling of satiety.



10. Put a mirror in front of you when you eat. A study has shown that people who eat in front of a mirror ate one-third less of their meal. Looking yourself in the eye when you eat reminds you why you are trying to lose weight and reflect your inner goals and standards.
