When you start on a weight loss program or routine, you want to transform yourselves and become a healthier, fitter, and more attractive person through toning your body.
Nothing can be a worse feeling than losing a lot of fat only to be left with flab–those loose rolls of sagging skin. Let’s take a look at some tips you can use for getting rid of flab.
First, understand that if you’ve had a very rapid weight loss, chances are good that a large amount of that weight was actually muscle mass. This is not good. Even though you may be at your target weight, you may still have a higher percentage of body fat.
Tone Up Your Body by Avoiding These Mistakes
Now one pound of fat takes up more space than one pound of muscle, so even if you are at your target weight, excess fat could be responsible for all those extra folds of skin that bulge out.
You Are What You Eat
While you are losing weight, it is important to make you get the right nutrients. Your diet should be based largely on fruits and vegetables. These are full of vitamins and fiber which help keep your skin and also aid your body in getting rid of toxins (which will restore elasticity).
Also, you want to avoid eating fake “health foods.” These are foods that are advertised as being good for you but actually aren’t. Take the time to read the nutrition labels on the back of the box. If you see a lot of sugar or high fructose corn syrup, don’t get it, this stuff is essentially a poison that is no good for you
Make sure you drink plenty of water as well. Water is great for washing the toxins out of your body. Plus, when you don’t drink enough water, your body becomes dehydrated.
This makes your body think that it’s going through a famine or living in the desert, and it goes into “starvation mode.” It stores as much fat as it possibly can to make it through this “famine.” Do yourself a favor and drink eight glasses of water each day for getting rid of flab.
Getting Rid of Flab with Exercise – Not Again!
Now, if you still have too much body fat, you’ll need to exercise and build muscle for getting rid of flab. Chances aren’t very good that you will be able to diet your way out of this one.
You need to continue exercising to burn off the excess fat. You also want to gain some lean muscle on your body as well. As you build muscle, it will burn fat deposits off your body, reducing the appearance of the flab. Toning these muscles will also help you sculpt your body and get it looking better.
Change your exercises around often so that your body doesn’t get accustomed to the “plateau.” The most important thing, though is to come up with an exercise plan that you can actually stick to. Don’t try to go to the gym 5 days a week if you know you won’t be able to keep it up. If twice a week is more realistic, then do that.
So, get the help you getting rid of flab, you just need to keep eating right and exercising. The sagging skin is, for the most part, due to extra fat deposits on your body that still need to be burned off.
